rebecca jenness

• A Rhode Island artist, her work references change in the unpredictable stage of the Urban Landscape. She combines architecture / nature / color in painting. Rebecca‘s work focuses on urban entanglements and connections, her recent work, a dreamlIke metaphor of possibilities, spaces occupied with stairs of past legacies and new directions. A handmade book, ‘City-Spirit‘ in process, temporarily shelved for materials.

After a West coast family move, Rebecca attended the Museum of Fine Arts, and graduated Vesper George School of Art, Boston, MA, with a BFA from UMass Dartmouth, painting residency at The Cape Cod School of Art. She taught 2001-2017 at the Rhode Island School of Design, CE/PC, The Gordon School, RI.,including community art programs to present.

Her work is in public and private collections including the Rhode Island School of Design, Museum of Art, and she has exhibited internationally. Rebecca’s quick drawing techniques have been published in the book, Paint Lab by Deborah Forman.
